The Trump administration has filed a lawsuit claiming that California's Proposition 12, along with other animal welfare laws, has caused an increase in egg prices. That is absurd. Not the egg prices rising, that is very much true. Prices have more than doubled since January 2024. But the claim that animal welfare laws are to blame are words from an administration clearly detached from reality.
