Bonta seeks receiver for troubled LA County juvenile halls

Attorney General Rob Bonta asked a court to place Los Angeles juvenile halls under a receiver, citing ongoing violations of court orders and unsafe conditions, including overdoses, violence and medical neglect.

California's attorney general called on the Los Angeles County Superior Court to place juvenile halls under the authority of a receiver due to alleged violation of agreements and court orders since 2021.

Attorney General Rob Bonta did not mince any words at a streamed news conference Wednesday.
