Judges appoint Adam Gordon as U.S. attorney for the Southern District of California
The decision, following a request from the Trump administration last week, comes as other jurisdictions have witnessed standoffs between the administration and district judges over who should serve in the role.




Southern District of California judges voted Monday to appoint interim U.S. Attorney Adam Gordon of San Diego to the position.
Chief Judge Cynthia A. Bashant confirmed the judges' vote in a phone call Monday afternoon. The Trump administration asked them to appoint Gordon to the position last week, she added.
