LA's US attorney could remain through 2028 without confirmation, legal expert says
The Trump administration was expected to reappoint Bilal A. "Bill" Essayli as acting U.S. attorney for California's Central District using a legal loophole, enabling him to serve as much as 2 1/2 years without Senate confirmation.
