San Francisco federal judge postpones TPS termination citing 'racial animus'

U.S. District Judge Trina L. Thompson accused the Trump administration of discriminatory intent. Meanwhile, another judge is considering similar claims from Venezuelans even as the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals considers whether it can review that order.

A federal judge in San Francisco has postponed a Trump administration decision to end Temporary Protected Status for 60,000 people from Honduras, Nicaragua and Nepal, attributing the decision to "racial animus."

Meanwhile, a second Northern District of California judge held a hearing Friday on the federal government's motion to dismiss claims by 350,000 Venezuelans in the United States.
