New interim US attorney named for Eastern District of California

Eric Grant served four years as deputy assistant attorney general in the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Justice Department during President Donald Trump's first term.

Veteran prosecutor Eric Grant has been appointed interim U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of California, the U.S. Department of Justice announced on Monday.

Grant has served two prior stints as a federal prosecutor. He was an attorney-adviser in the department's Office of Legal Counsel from 1991 to 1993.
