Judge's colleague is a plaintiff, Edison says public entities are liable
Judge Laura Seigle disclosed a conflict in the Eaton Fire litigation, as fellow Judge Wendy Chang is a plaintiff. Southern California Edison claims multiple public entities share liability.




The judge presiding over the Eaton Fire cases in Los Angeles County Superior Court announced on Tuesday that two of her friends, including a fellow judge, may have claims, and one has already filed a lawsuit. Many superior court judges' homes burned in the January fires, prompting Southern California Edison's attorney to note that more conflicts are likely.
