Tentative ruling could end wage-and-hour class action against 24 Carrots

Judge Layne H. Melzer ruled that the plaintiff's Unfair Competition Law allegations lacked specifics on how Labor Code violations occurred, leaving the class action one amendment away from dismissal.

An Orange County Superior Court judge has tentatively dismissed the last remaining claim in a wage-and-hour class action against catering company 24 Carrots LLC, finding the plaintiff's Unfair Competition Law allegations too vague to survive pleading standards. The ruling grants the plaintiff 30 days to amend.
