Getty Images sues Stability AI in SF over alleged image theft

Getty Images refiled its copyright lawsuit against Stability AI in San Francisco federal court, accusing the company of copying over 12 million images and its watermark to train an AI model.

A San Francisco federal judge will preside over Getty Images' claims of "brazen" intellectual property theft against London-based Stability AI, after Getty dropped its lawsuit in Delaware federal court amid jurisdictional and discovery disputes.

Getty filed a similar complaint in the Northern District of California the same day, after previously fighting that Stability-favored venue.
