LA judge's fire lawsuit transferred to a colleague on the same bench

To avoid any appearance of conflict, Judge Laura Seigle transferred a fellow judge's personal fire damage lawsuit out of her courtroom to another judge on the same court, while continuing to manage related Edison wildfire litigation in Los Angeles.

The judge presiding over the Eaton Fire litigation in Los Angeles County Superior Court transferred a bench colleague's lawsuit to another department for reassignment on Tuesday, saying she believes that will resolve any conflicts of interest.
