Judge lets Fairfax homeless camp sweep proceed
A federal judge denied homeless plaintiffs' bid to block Fairfax's anti-camping ordinance, citing the Supreme Court's Grants Pass ruling, which overturned prior precedent protecting homeless people from enforcement actions.




A federal judge declined to issue an injunction barring a Marin County town from conducting homeless encampment sweeps and said the case was a casualty of a 2024 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that overturned Eighth Amendment protections for people dwelling on city streets and public areas.
