Appeal court denies Dordick Law's writ in Gucci abuse case

A California appeal court panel denied Dordick Law's bid to change jury instructions in Alexandra Zarini's sexual abuse case, upholding a higher "actual knowledge" standard against defendant Patricia Gucci.

A split 2nd District Court of Appeal panel denied a writ by the Dordick Law Corporation that would have stayed a Los Angeles County Superior Court case involving allegations of sexual abuse within the Gucci family.

The firm, which represents Patricia Gucci's daughter, Alexandra Zarini, had appealed an order by a Los Angeles judge creating an "actual knowledge" standard of evidence. Dordick Law argued the case should be tried under a "negligence" standard. ...
