Judge denies mistrial motion as Uber sex assault bellwether trial starts
A mistrial motion was denied at the start of a bellwether Uber sexual assault case, as attorneys clashed over pretrial rulings, evidence limits and the company's handling of passenger safety allegations.





The plaintiff moved for a mistrial Monday, right after Uber's opening statement in a bellwether trial of 600 cases claiming the company's drivers have committed hundreds of thousands of sexual offences against passengers
San Francisco Superior Court Judge Ethan P. Schulman denied the motion for mistrial, saying the plaintiff's attorneys had "not accurately read my rulings."
