Laurel Canyon developer agrees to demolish illegal homes in plea deal
After more than 20 years of legal battles, developer Shahram Ghalili has agreed to demolish five unpermitted hillside homes in Laurel Canyon under a plea deal with the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, resolving a case long mired in litigation and neighborhood frustration.




A decades-long legal battle over five unpermitted hillside homes in Laurel Canyon concluded with a significant plea agreement, City Attorney Hydee Feldstein Soto announced Monday.
Developer Shahram Ghalili pleaded no contest to five misdemeanor counts for failing to comply with demolition orders for properties on Woodstock Road and agreed to demolish the structures.
