Bonta taps Samuel Harbourt as California's next solicitor general
A former clerk to Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg who has already argued before the U.S. Supreme Court, Samuel Harbourt will begin his new job Oct. 1.
Attorney General Rob Bonta on Tuesday named Samuel Harbourt--an accomplished litigator who has argued before the U.S. Supreme Court and clerked for the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg--as California's next solicitor general, effective Oct. 1.
Harbourt has represented California before the U.S. Supreme Court, and with major legal battles intensifying between the state, Republican-led states, and the federal government, he is likely to have many more opportunities.
