
A federal judge in Los Angeles denied Tom Girardi's request for release during his appeal of a seven-year prison sentence, finding the disbarred attorney failed to present questions likely to overturn his wire fraud convictions.
In a bond motion, Federal Public Defender Samuel O. Cross, for Girardi, raised four challenges before U.S. District Judge Josephine L. Staton. She rejected all of them in a 24-page order filed last Friday and docketed Monday.
