On Sept. 25, former FBI Director James Comey was indicted for allegedly lying during his testimony before Congress about the FBI's handling of the Russia investigation. The indictment was secured by Lindsey Halligan, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, even as several Assistant U.S. Attorneys reportedly voiced reluctances, recognizing how rarely perjury prosecutions stemming from congressional testimony succeed.
