Tech groups press Newsom to veto more AI and social media bills

Tech trade associations warn the measures threaten free expression and could trigger constitutional challenges. The push follows Newsom's signing of SB 53, a sweeping AI safety law.

After Gov. Gavin Newsom signed an artificial intelligence regulation bill, tech groups are urging him to veto several other measures. In a letter sent on Monday--the same day Newsom signed SB 53--the trade group NetChoice urged him to veto five bills: AB 56, AB 1043, AB 1064, SB 7, and SB 771.
