A San Francisco judge has bolstered a law firm's claim that a real estate mogul it once represented committed fraud, in a messy, three-year, multi-party dispute over $100,000 in fees.

The litigation has seen two trial continuances, requests for sanctions and a potential order to appoint a discovery referee.
