Judge rejects DOJ bid to stay union layoffs case due to shutdown
A San Francisco district judge refused to pause union litigation during the government shutdown, while the Supreme Court continues granting Trump administration stay requests in other cases.





The U.S. Department of Justice, defending the Trump administration against a host of lawsuits by states, cities, labor unions and others, has asked federal judges to stay all of them because of the government shutdown.
But at least one San Francisco judge declined to do so.
