Judge rejects challenge to DA's $10 million cryptocurrency seizure

Santa Clara County prosecutors survived motions challenging a $10 million asset seizure from health care executives accused of insurance fraud, despite defense claims of overreach, coercion and lack of probable cause.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office has survived two motions accusing it of a broad overreach of authority after it seized more than $10 million in cryptocurrency, gold and checks from the home of executives of a health care firm under investigation for alleged insurance billing fraud.
