Judge to approve $65M World Financial Group PAGA settlement
A San Francisco judge said she will approve a $65 million settlement resolving a class action accusing World Financial Group of misclassifying 380,000 sales agents and running a pyramid-style recruiting scheme.
A judge said she would grant final approval for a $65 million settlement in a wage-and-hour class action against World Financial Group Insurance Agency -- a financial services company accused of running a "massive pyramid scheme" recruiting operation and misclassifying its sales agents as independent contractors.
After deductions, the net payout to class members totals approximately $43 million.
