A federal judge in Illinois has transferred a lawsuit challenging a California emissions agreement to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California, ruling that the case belongs where most of the key players and evidence are located.
"Like many American dramas, this one was created in California," U.S. District Judge Iain D. Johnston wrote in his Friday order. "But it has not remained there. For the following reasons, it must return."
