Court allows sewer rate challenge but questions class action path

A Los Angeles judge will allow a sewer-rate challenge to proceed but is reconsidering whether plaintiffs may amend class and jury claims after tentatively striking them in a Proposition 218 and CPRA lawsuit.

A Los Angeles judge on Wednesday allowed a ratepayer lawsuit challenging the city's sewer rate increases to proceed but remained undecided on whether the claims qualify for class treatment or a jury trial.
