States win bid to intervene in review of HPE-Juniper deal
Despite objections from Hewlett Packard Enterprise and the U.S. Department of Justice, a federal judge allowed states - including California - to intervene in the Tunney Act review of the HPE-Juniper merger, which critics say was improperly influenced by political actors.
A San Jose federal judge ruled that 12 states, including California, plus the District of Columbia, can intervene to try to block approval of Hewlett Packard Enterprise Co.'s merger with Juniper Networks Inc., which had been approved by the Trump administration.
U.S. District Judge P. Casey Pitts ruled from the bench on Tuesday that the states can participate over the objections of Hewlett Packard Enterprise and the U.S. Department of Justice.
