Amazon, Perplexity spar over AI agent access in hacking claims
Perplexity AI counters Amazon's allegations that its Comet app violated federal and state laws against illegally accessing computer accounts, arguing Amazon seeks to block its own customers from using AI agents and saying its actions do not violate any laws.
Attorneys for an AI startup that helps consumers use an app to shop on Amazon.com Inc. are fighting back against the tech company's accusations that it violated the federal Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and a California law by deliberately disguising its AI agent as a human user.
