The Justice Department is urging a federal judge to shut down a renewed constitutional challenge to First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bilal A. Essayli's position, arguing this week that U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi had full authority to appoint him, while courts in two other states have ruled the opposite about similarly installed federal prosecutors.
