CJP settles discipline charges against retired 3rd District justice

The trial set to begin this week would have featured a Who's Who of current and former Court of Appeal justices. Ex-Justice William J. Murray Jr. faced allegations that he chronically delayed issuing decisions in his cases.

The disciplinary trial of retired justice William J. Murray Jr. was expected to include 34 witnesses, according to documents obtained by the Daily Journal. But on Wednesday, the Commission on Judicial Performance announced that it had canceled the proceeding, which had been scheduled to begin Monday.
