X Corp. sues former engineer for allegedly stealing millions of lines of code

In a new lawsuit, X Corp. claims a fired employee used stolen code and confidential materials to create her own software company--and later boasted about it.

X Corp. is suing a former employee for stealing trade secrets and using them to start her own company.

In a lawsuit filed in federal court on Thursday, the company alleges that Yao Yue downloaded six million lines of code after she was fired by X, formerly Twitter, which she then used to launch IOP Systems in November 2022.
