Wildfire victims face Dec. 12 deadline for certain IRS tax refunds
Taxpayers who paid income tax on wildfire lawsuit recoveries from 2020 or 2021 may be eligible for refunds -- but the window to act is closing fast.

There's been considerable confusion over the federal and state exclusions that can shield wildfire lawsuit recoveries from income.
