Visa wins dismissals in antitrust, investor, customer suits in Northern California
Visa secured three Northern District dismissals as judges rejected MiCamp's antitrust claims and an investor class action alleging misleading disclosures, criticizing weak factual support while allowing only the securities plaintiff a chance to amend.
Visa was handed a trio of wins in the Northern District of California, as three lawsuits against the credit card giant were dismissed in recent days.
A $5 billion class action filed on behalf of customers was dismissed by U.S. District Judge Jon S. Tigar on Friday. The plaintiff, represented by Morgan & Morgan PA, alleged that Visa's 0.13% fee imposed on merchants for each transaction constitutes unjust enrichment and violates California's Unfair Competition Law.
