AviaGames says rival copied its mobile ads, a growing area of dispute
AviaGames accuses competing developers of copying eight copyrighted ads and more than 100 additional ads, seeking damages and an injunction after warnings were ignored, highlighting growing concerns over ad theft in the mobile gaming industry.
Mobile game developer AviaGames is alleging a competitor directly stole eight of its copyrighted ads in a lawsuit filed in federal court in San Jose.
The complaint alleges that Singapore-based Oakever Games and Vita Games Studio, along with Beijing-based Lexin Shengwen Technology--which AviaGames suspects are all arms of the same company--aired ads identical to those AviaGames had copyrighted, simply replacing the names and logos of the games.
