Kia, Hyundai agree to $9M multistate settlement over theft technology
Kia and Hyundai agreed to pay $9 million to settle multistate claims they failed to install industry-standard anti-theft technology, providing restitution, investigative costs, and security upgrades without admitting further liability.
Carmakers Kia and Hyundai agreed to a $9 million settlement in litigation with 35 states, including California, over claims they failed to properly equip their vehicles with anti-theft technology.
