A $5 billion federal class action filed in San Jose claims Google violated an Arizona consumer privacy law by providing an AI assistant to listen in on Verizon's customer service calls without the consent of the caller.
Plaintiffs are seeking damages for every Verizon customer in Arizona who spoke with a customer service agent using the Google AI assistant, and any profits made by the alleged breach of the law. (Google charges 3 cents per minute for the AI assistant.)
