When Elon Musk opened Tesla's first factory in the city of Fremont on a sunny day in October 2010, few could have predicted the company's explosive growth or the impact on the Alameda County Superior Court.

The court has seen more than 1,500 complaints involving Tesla, according to its website, in the last five years, and a "Tesla Day" is scheduled on the second Friday of each month to handle lawsuits regarding the company and the factory.
