Appeals court tosses Dan Schneider defamation suit over 'Quiet on Set'
The 2nd District Court of Appeal ruled that the Nickelodeon producer failed to show that the documentary or its trailer reasonably implied he sexually abused children.
The 2nd District Court of Appeal ordered the dismissal of television producer Dan Schneider's defamation lawsuit over the documentary "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV," ruling that the series did not reasonably imply that he sexually abused children.
The panel on Thursday reversed Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Ashfaq G. Chowdhury, who had denied an anti-SLAPP motion by Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. and other producers of the five-part documentary.
