Adventist Health to pay $18.5M over therapist sexual abuse claims
Seven women will receive about $2.64 million each to settle allegations that Adventist Health Sonora failed to act despite repeated reports that physical therapist Jason Elias was sexually abusing patients.
Adventist Health Sonora has agreed to pay $18.5 million to settle claims by seven women who alleged a longtime physical therapist sexually abused them during treatment sessions while hospital employees failed to act on repeated warnings about his conduct.
