After months of deliberation, a Los Angeles judge allowed the county's child-safety lawsuit against Roblox to proceed Thursday, finding claims about age verification and other platform safeguards are not barred as protected publishing activity.

Superior Court Judge Dean J. Kitchens overruled Roblox's demurrer and denied its anti-SLAPP motion, finalizing a decision he had taken under submission in July and then again last Friday.
