Sutter, Kaiser near agreement to bifurcate $50M payment trial

Sutter Bay Hospitals and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan are preparing to bifurcate a November jury trial over allegations that Kaiser underpaid more than $50 million for care provided to its members.

Sutter Bay Hospitals and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan are close to an agreement to split their November jury trial into two phases in a dispute over more than $50 million that Sutter claims Kaiser underpaid for care provided to its members.

Kaiser claims Sutter is attempting to obtain payments exceeding the reasonable value of its services.
