Rubin upholds murder conviction after victim's family ends life support
Justice David M. Rubin, a prosecutor for two decades and a San Diego trial judge for 16 years, joined the 4th District Court of Appeal in 2023.
A family's decision to withdraw life support from a man whose skull was shattered did not break the chain of causation for murder, Justice David M. Rubin of the 4th District Court of Appeal wrote in a 2024 opinion.
Rubin, who was sworn in on Division 1 of the 4th District Court of Appeal in 2023, after 16 years as a San Diego County Superior Court judge, seeks a four-year term Nov. 3.
