Snap is 4th company to settle social media claims in bellwether case

Snap's confidential settlement with two plaintiffs ended Los Angeles' second social media addiction bellwether before opening statements, although all four technology companies remain defendants in thousands of related lawsuits.

Snap Inc. became the fourth social media company to settle claims brought by two young women in a Los Angeles bellwether case, ending the second social media addiction trial before opening statements could begin.

Superior Court Judge Carolyn B. Kuhl announced the confidential settlement Monday morning, following Meta Platforms' settlement Friday. TikTok and Google's YouTube had settled months earlier.
