Dear Crabby,
In these tough economic times, fewer deals are being done, which means less work for me, a real estate attorney. I'm thinking of expanding into other areas of law. What do you suggest?
Looking for Greener Pastures Dear Greener Pastures,
Get thee into sports law. Of course, no major athlete is going hire you right away, so the trick is getting your foot in the door.
Here's how: Baseball team rosters contain more pitchers than players in any other position. Set your cap on procuring pitchers as clients. Your best bet is to focus on representing relievers, with the goal of becoming the Gloria Allred of middle-inning hurlers. And the less talented your clients, the better. They're the ones who'll be traded from one team to another (thus, giving you more chances to ply your real estate know-how when they relocate). Seems to Crabby that Kanekoa Texeira of the Kansas City Royals is a gold-plated ticket to Easy Street.
