The Human Rights Campaign Foundation has named 14 California law firms to its Corporate Equality Index 2010. Most of the 127 firms in the index have achieved high ratings based on their policies for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) employees. Companies make the list by meeting a variety of criteria, including whether they offer health insurance to same-sex partners of employees, and whether bereavement and family leave policies extend to those partners. Other criteria include written nondiscrimination policies and training on sexual orientation and gender identity.
