Black Women Lawyers install president, hand out honors

The Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Inc. held their 42nd Annual Installation and Awards Dinner late last month.

Members of the Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Inc. gathered at the Hotel Indigo in downtown Los Angeles late last month for the organization’s 42nd Annual Installation and Awards Dinner.

Incoming BWL president Demetria L. Graves was installed during the event while Sandra K. Williams, senior vice president and deputy general counsel West Coast for CBS Television, took home this year’s Corporate Leadership Award.

Diana Becton, a retired California Superior Court judge for Contra Costa County, was awarded Judge of the Year. Becton was sworn in as the Contra Costa County District Attorney in September.

The nonprofit Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Inc. was founded in 1975.
