Retired Los Angeles County Judge Zaven V. Sinanian has joined the panel of neutrals at Signature Resolution.
“I aim to create meaningful dialogue through active listening and human connection, which fosters trust and understanding between all parties,” Sinanian said in a statement. “I’m pleased to join Signature Resolution and continue working proactively with clients to resolve their disputes.”
Gov. Gray Davis appointed Sinanian to the Superior Court in 2002. He was assigned to the court’s Mandatory Settlement Conference program in 2012, when Judge Helen Bendix — his mentor — managed the program. In 2018, after Bendix was elevated to the 2nd District Court of Appeal, Sinanian took over management of the MSC program, where he remained until his retirement on July 7.
Signature Resolution said Sinanian’s work as a superior court judge and particularly his assignment to the mandatory settlement conference program and independent calendar civil courtroom had positioned him to be a balanced and insightful facilitator and decisionmaker.
“He has presided over a multitude of cases and developed a thoughtful and tactful approach to mediation, making him a valued addition to the Signature Resolution team,” said Dario Higuchi, Signature Resolution founding partner and managing member.
Before his appointment to the superior court, Sinanian served 13 years as a deputy state attorney general.
