WESTMINSTER - When someone enters Orange County Judge Sherri L. Honer's courtroom, the first thing they notice is the lighting. It's unusually low--dim enough to make the room feel quieter and more focused.

Her chambers share the same muted tone.

"It's partly for me. I'm a little photosensitive," Honer said. "But I also find that having the lighting lowered calms people. There's just more of a calming, more relaxing" atm... (continued)
