WOODLAND -- The first thing you might notice when you enter Yolo Superior Court Judge Danette C. Brown's office is posters of female martial arts fighters. The description also fits Brown herself. She has been studying jiu-jitsu for about a dozen years.
But her martial arts background stretches back further. Some of her earliest memories involve being in the judo gym with her black-belt father, who served in the Air Force.
