HAYWARD - After more than 30 years at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office, Thomas C. Rogers was staring at retirement. And he didn't like what he saw.
Too many of his colleagues left their jobs only to be dissatisfied with a life of leisure because they felt they had no purpose.
