LOS ANGELES - Bill Dodson and a buddy spent a couple of summers during high school watching trials at the county courthouse in downtown Los Angeles - just for fun.
Court watchers could take their pick of real-life dramas playing out in the stately courthouse, from civil disputes and criminal cases to traffic trials and bitter dissolutions. Back then, there was no such thing as "no-fault" divorce.
