BARSTOW - Commissioner Kirt Mahlum never gets bored.

In the high desert community where he grew up, Mahlum handles a variety of assignments, from misdemeanor probation violations, traffic infractions and juvenile matters to civil law and motion, unlawful detainers, small claims and, his personal favorite, family law.
